AbstractThe desertification and lack of water are serious problems in many parts of the world because of compromise agriculture farming. Desertification is the degradation of land in arid, semiarid and dry areas resulting from various factors including climatic variations, but primarily human activities. The solution of this problem is by the use of synthetic materials with good water absorption and retention capacities under high pressure or temperature. Systems of this type are the Super Absorbent Polymers (SAPs). Due to their excellent properties, these SAPs were already well established in various applications such as disposable diapers, hygienic napkins, cement, drug delivery systems, sensors, and agriculture.
