Multi ring-fused 2-pyridones have shown interesting activity in a variety of biological systems. It would be of great interest to explore the biological application of even more multi heterocyclic ring fused 2-pyridones. ‘Diversity oriented synthesis’ is an excellent concept emerged in recent years to access compounds with structurally and stereochemically diverse skeletons.
