AbstractThe synthetic treatment of nonlinear connections is given. Synthetic nonlinear connections are shown to be no other than Ehresmann connections on tangent bundles. Their relation to semisprays (= second-order differential equations) is discussed. A nice nonlinear generalization of torsion form already discussed in the context of synthetic linear connections is given, and its properties are developed
