AbstractThe objective of the present study is to achieve doxycycline’s maximum therapeutic efficacy. Doxycycline-loaded poly(ε-caprolactone) microspheres were prepared by water-in-oil-in-water (w/o/w) double emulsion solvent evaporation technique with different formulation variables such as concentrations of drug and polymer. The effects of these variables on surface morphology, particle size distribution, encapsulation efficiency, and in vitro release behavior were examined. To observe the nature of microspheres, X-ray diffraction studies were carried out.
