AbstractWe describe a general method of construction for sets of mutually orthogonal latin squares (MOLS) from left neofields. We give detailed information for all isomorphically distinct left neofields of order <10 and summarized information for orders up to 14. We show that a number of recent constructions of MOLS implicitly employ the construction which we describe, in particular the recent constructions of three MOLS of order 14 and four of order 20
