AbstractA method of rank-ordering objects using a fuzzy algorithm is described. Each object can be rank-ordered and discriminated by fuzzy functions which characterize the relations of each pair of alternatives. The fuzzy algorithm proposed here is useful in classifying objects of which classes do not possess sharply defined boundaries. In this paper, the author gives the proofs of several theorems on fuzzy functions introduced here
