AbstractIntroductionIncisional hernias are the most common cause of intestinal strangulation in patients presenting with intestinal obstruction, potentially complicating with intestinal gangrene, sepsis and eventually intraabdominal hypertension syndrome and its pathophysiological consequencesCase reportAn obese woman with a strangulated incisional hernia is herein reported. We discuss the severe consequences and lethal risks to which this patient was exposed as a consequence of her hernia.
