In this paper we illustrate the case of organizational innovation in the sector of processing tomatoes in Northern Italy. After the last reform of the Common Market Organization (CMO) of the fruit and vegetable sector in 2007, the economic agents (private firms and cooperatives operating in the processing sector as well as Producer Organizations) have started to create an Inter-branch Organization with the aim of reinforcing the competiveness of the entire chain in the area. This experience is still evolving and growing, with a number of positive results
