AbstractIn this paper, the two-parameter family of order four, step-number five, Adams-type methods is investigated. Methods are given from this family for which the stiffly stable parameters are optimized. It is shown that the resulting methods are intermediate to the fourth-order Adams-Moulton and backward differentiation methods
