IntroductionLower-extremity peripheral artery disease (PAD) is associated with traditional cardiovascular disease risk factors (smoking, hypertension, dyslipidemia, diabetes). Among participants in the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA), we sought to assess the prevalence of PAD in a population without these risk factors.
