AbstractThis paper describes some results of using microscopic traffic simulation for evaluation of intermittent bus lane (IBL) operation. There is a limited experience of implementation IBL and necessary additional researches in this area. The objective of this study is to know advantage and limitation of the IBL at different volume of background traffic and bus signal priority. We concentrated on the two-lane road as more complex for implementation of IBL. For this purposes we used AIMSUN and created special logic script for microsimulation IBL. Results of simulation reveal various tendencies of change of speed of the traffic and buses at increase of the traffic volume for standard bus routes and IBL
