AbstractThe present study focuses on the main characteristics of the language used to depict the Turks in the Greek press during the bilateral crises in the Aegean Sea. Our purpose is to remonstrate that after 1974, the Greek daily newspapers displayed and promoted nationalist attitudes and stereotypes on Turks through textual and visual messages by reinforcing national myths and stereotypes popularized in the Greek history textbooks of primary and secondary education
