The first survey was carried out simultaneously with a study of the natural vegetation of the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Sampling methods are described and the physiography and history of the reserve are outlined. Distributions and densities of five major invasive species are described and discussed with the aid of tables, maps and a graph. Invasive species were found within a radius of 183 m of 92% of the sample plots. The most widespread invader was Acacia cyclops, followed by A. saligna, Pinus pinaster, A. longifolia and Eucalyptus spp., in that order of frequency. It is concluded that the whole reserve might become overgrown with these invader species if spread remains unchecked.Die eerste opname is gelyktydig met ’n studie van d...
