AbstractThe recent advancements in the manufacturing of single crystal PIN-PMN-PT piezoelectric materials now make them a cost-competitive alternative to PZT4 and PZT8 (Navy Types I and III) piezoceramic materials, which have been the workhorse of power ultrasonic applications (e.g., welding, cutting, sonar, etc.) for over 50 years.
