Sexual violence against females and its impact on their sexual function

AbstractBackgroundTo date, there are no accurate Egyptian epidemiological studies evaluating the magnitude of the problem of female sexual violence and its impact on female sexual function. Objective: To evaluate the magnitude of sexual violence (prevalence, scene, pattern, assailants, and contributing factors), and to evaluate its impact on female sexual function.MethodThis cross sectional study involved 150 participants, who completed selfreport question-naires. Sexually active female participants fulfilled full history-taking and general examination. Sexual function was assessed by using the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI).ResultsAll participants were exposed to violence [Verbal, Pornography, Sexual contact and Rape].
