The article presents modern information on epidemiology and risk factors for acute cerebrovascular accidents in patients with diabetes mellitus. The literature data are provided on possible mechanisms of diabetic cerebral disorders. The questions of diagnostic features, differential diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cerebral strokes in patients with diabetes mellitus according to modern clinical guidelines are discussed
