AbstractComputer-assisted translation tools have significantly influenced translators’ workflow, especially with respect to productivity and consistency criteria. However, not much has been investigated about the effects and constraints that these tools have on translators’ decision-making process during the language transfer stage. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to outline a framework for analysis to identify potential textual constraints due to the segmentation function of computer-assisted translation (CAT) systems and verify the extent of the effect of CAT tools on translated texts based on a comparable corpus approach
