AbstractThis paper presents an academic framework of knowledge management systems for tourism crisis management. The framework is an autonomous software system, and is capable of collaborate in extraction and dissemination of knowledge in all stages of crisis. The combinations of artificial intelligence and web-based technologies are applied in the framework that can collect, sort, store, and share the information throughout the organizations. The framework consists of components that play three types of roles: knowledge extractor, knowledge server, and knowledge manager. The functions and application of the framework are also discussed in the paper. Some strategies for the application process of the framework are explored
