In recent years, the treatment of venous ulcers by massage and exercises for the leg in elevation, combined with the wearing of an elastic supportive bandage has been widely known and practised with good results. However, unless the treatment is given with care and attention to detail, there will always be a certain number of ulcers which take longer than necessary to heal, or remain resistant to treatment. I propose to discuss the method of treatment so that the finer points may be borne in mind
