Promoting computer assisted learning for persons with disabilities

AbstractThis paper highlights the necessity to respect international accessibility and e-learning standards in creating Web sites or assistive software and provides solutions for access to learning objects, through web services using voice synthesis and speech recognition in Romanian. Inclusive education aims are facilitating the access to information, learning and the reduction of the possible risk of social exclusion. This article also aims to find the most appropriate way to combine the promotion and the awareness of both the general public and of those directly involved, of the importance and usefulness of such solutions in Romania
