AbstractThe authors would like to stress the importance of diagnosis and intervention of the specific language impairment (SLI). The symptoms of SLI vary and occur in the language-related areas, from specific impairment in language areas (mostly morphological-syntactical, lexical-semantic or pragmatic) to non-language - e.g. motor skills, graphomotor skills, emotionality and adaptability, cognitive functions (memory, perception, in particular hearing perception, attention and cogitation). Lower functional literacy, difficulties in understanding of spoken and written forms of speech, dysgrammatism in expressive language, are typical symptoms, which may persist and become a disadvantage for successful education or success in choosing or maint...
