AbstractThe paper concerns the solution of (three-dimensional) problems of elastoplasticity by the incremental finite element method. Attention is devoted to the inexact Newton-like methods for solving large nonlinear systems arising in load steps and to the preconditioned conjugate gradient method for solving large linear systems within Newton-like iterations. Numerical experiments illustrate the performance of the described numerical technique
