This document presents the progress of the doctoral thesis titled “Memory, political subjectivity, citizenship and Human Rights. Analysis of 8 Human Rights Education experiences in public schools of Bogotá and Santiago de Chile 2005-2015”. A contextualization of the necessity of Human Rights Education as a subfield of Education and Human Rights is shown. Also, the memory as a fundamental component of Human Rights Education in a context of political violence, specifically within the armed conflict and the post dictatorship frame, is explained
