Súčasné prístupy k navrhovaniu kvetinových prvkov v mestskom prostredí

Until recently, ecological approaches prevailed over horticultural approaches in the design, establishment and maintenance of planted perennials in urban environments. This is related to: a higher degree of urbanisation in the public environment, more demanding citizen lifestyles, increased environmental interest and decreased public finances. However the ´New German Style´ (´German Lebensbereich Style´) has laid the foundation for combining ecological and horticultural approaches in differing proportions, and the style has since evolved differently in different European countries. This paper describes the features of this approach, typical perennial representatives and efficient design, establishment and maintenance technology. The combined ecological-horticultural approach is more effective in designing herbaceous planting because it utilises the benefits of both approaches
