This article deals with some aspects of the historiographic production of the Post-graduate program in history of the Federal University of Pernambuco during the last three decades. The first part deals with the chronological cuts chosen by the students of the masters course. The second one deals with the historiographical tendencies of the production of masters who have worked on the subject of slavery in Brazil.
