During 2002-2006 at the SC Agroindustriala SA Cluj-Napoca six varieties of sour cherry (Crisane, Mocanesti, Timpurii de Cluj, Nana, Oblacinska, Meteor ) were tested, concerning their behaviour in pollination process, self-fertility, yield, resistance to the most important diseases of sour cherry. There are many causes in producing lean fructification of sour cherry: absence of pollinators or the pollinators are afar, low air humidity who cease pollen germinating, high air humidity bringing forward diseases access ( Monilinia laxa, Cocomyces hiemalis). The selffertile varieties of sour cherry had best behaviour. This selffertil varieties are recommended to be extended in area
