The complexity of a semi-active vibration isolation system results in the difficulty of realizing its role on impact load effectively. Thus, a new self-sensing bearing based on modified anisotropic magnetorheological elastomer (MRE) is proposed in this study. This self-sensing bearing was fabricated by dispersed multi-walled carbon nanotubes and carbonyl iron particles into polydimethylsiloxane matrix under a magnetic field. The working conditions of the bearing were analyzed and decoupled. An optimal structure size of the bearing was selected and used for setting up the experiment test system.
