This article discusses how cognitive neuroscience techniques are used to study language with the aim of showing its advantages to neurolinguistics. It focuses on Electroencephalography (EEG) because of the great temporal resolution of this technique. The concept of Event Related Potentials (ERPs) is explained and some ERPs found in sentence processing experiments are discussed in order to show how the understanding of the linguistic operations elicited by these ERPs can be useful to explain how these operations are implemented on-line and to validate psycholinguistics models.</p
