Proposing Undergraduate Qualification Framework of Thai Musical Disciplines According to The Framework of National Qualification Higher Education

There are two aims of this study: 1) to analyze a relationship of an undergraduate degree majoring in Thai music (TQF 2) for higher education in Thailand and; 2) to propose a qualification framework of the undergraduate program majoring in Thai music (TQF 1). The mixed method research was used in 37 mastery lecturers in Thai music teaching undergraduate program of higher education in academic year of 2015 as the purposive population of the study. As a research tool, there were 2 forms of data collection: a form of program relationship analysis and a questionnaire. The statistical devices were percentage, means, S.D. and mixed method analysis. The findings revealed that there were similar relationships in the primary contents in the program (TQF 2) of the undergraduate degree in Thai music for higher education in Thailand: the program title, degree, major, graduate quality, specific course components, and learning outcomes according to the qualification of knowledge. In view of the proposal for the qualification framework of undergraduate degree in Thai music towards the national qualifications framework (TQF 1), the findings revealed that the overall high agreement has shown in the questionnaire ( =4.47, S.D. =0.71). Each aspect showed the degrees of agreement as follows. The qualification program in Thai music showed the highest agreement. The program title and major showed high degree. The major quality showed the highest degree. The graduate quality showed the highest degree. The qualification of learning outcome showed the highest degree. The primary contents of the majoring courses showed high degree. and the main contents of the elective courses showed high degree. In conclusion, the proposal of the qualification framework for undergraduate degree in Thai music towards the national qualification framework (TQF 1) in this study revealed the potential acceptance and development in practice for Thai music program in higher education
