This paper reports 2.64–6.72 GHz multicore CMOS LC Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) designed in 65 nm RF CMOS technology. The three cores of switched capacitor array provides wide LC-VCO tuning range. With 1.8 V supply voltage and 40°C temperature, simulation results show that the tuning range is from 2.64 GHz to 6.72 GHz, while average phase noise value across the entire tuning range is (–131.1) dBc/Hz. Power dissipation average is only 22,9 mW. Output signal amplitude varies from 1.34 V to 2.26 V. Startup time varies from 5.97 ns in highest frequency and 2.76 ns in lowest frequency.
