In the last years, there has been an increase in computational analyses in the study of hydrodynamic profiles for the determination of flows in watercourses as an attempt to reduce inaccuracies in traditional calculations. This article aims to develop an algorithm for the determination of flow rates in open channels using numerical procedures to optimize the hydrometric windlasses method in order to reduce the time in data analyzes and to provide a detailed treatment of velocities as a function of depth.
