Abstract: The Learning Model Narrative Essay Writing with a Contextual Approach in High School. This research aimed to produce media of learning writting a narrative essay with a contextual approach which are valid, practical, and effective. The study was designed to develop a model approach to 4-D Thiagarajan. The Subjects were high school students in grade XI Gunung Sari, Makassar. The results showed: 1) the study is valid, 2) student book category "Valid", 3) Stu-dent Activity Sheet is in valid category.The implementation of aspects of the syntax component of the contextual approach had beed "fully implemented".
