Introduction, The purpose of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of metacognitive intervention on anxiety, body image and other symptoms of body dysmorphic disorder patients (BDD). Method: This semi-experimental study which is a random clinical training. It was conducted by voluntary sampling on BDD patients who referred to dermatology and cosmic surgery clinics. 30 patients were selected and were randomly assigned to the experimental and control group. Post-test and pretest was done by the Yale-Brown obsessive Compulsive Scale Modified for Body Dysmorphic Disorder [BOD-YBOCS], Fisher body test and Beck Anxiety inventory [BAI].
