Under high horizontal ground stress, the squeezing failure has been a common failure pattern for deep roadway. And the large deformation of surrounding rock mass around the roadway has also been a major challenge for deep mining practices. This paper describes a case study of the failure mechanisms and stability control technology of deep roadway under high horizontal ground stress in Jinchuan mine in Gansu Province, China.
