This research aims to characterize women's access to higher education and analyze the social imaginary in terms of profession and gender. The information available in the databases of Universidad Técnica de Ambato, Ecuador, during a period of 5 years was classified by Faculty and Career and presented through a table. The information presented statically shows that there is men and women insertion to higher education, but women reflect a greater number in the universe of university population. Social biases in the orientation of professions for men and women are confirmed
