This article indicates the characteristics of the Afro-Mexican ethnopolitical mobilization of the Costa Chica of Guerrero and Oaxaca, their demands, the responses of the State, as well as the existing tensions, with the general objective of identifying the achievements, limitations and challenges of the mobilization. It begins establishing the sociopolitical context of the multicultural Mexico, then formulates a sociodemographic profile, and analyzes the trajectory of struggle, conflict and contradictions of collective organization of the Afro-Mexicans.
