On the 14th and 21st September 2018 Urban Archaeology carried out an archaeological watching brief for Matt Fulford on behalf of Chedworth PCC. The watching brief was on the excavation of a trench to carry a new electric cable and water pipe to the church of St Andrew, Chedworth, Gloucestershire. A reworked 'cemetery soil' was observed across the excavated area, with over five hundred fragments of human bone recovered. Roman, medieval and post-medieval pottery and Roman and post-Roman Ceramic Building Material was recovered, as well as post-medieval coffin furniture, a probable forged Charles II farthing, and architectural fragments.
