Excessive use of antibiotics has resulted in the selection of multi-drug resistance bacteria (MDR). As an important public health threat, MDR microorganisms accounts for a large proportion of hospital-acquired bacterial infections. Due to high incidence, non-traditional treatments are ideal alternatives to current treatment modalities and are a guide to prevent these infections. Understanding of the term microbiota and the increase in studies conducted in this area are considered as an option to restore microbiome and maintain its integrity, and thus prevent colonization and infections caused by MDR microorganisms.
