This article discusses the reality of public education currently discussed here due to the existence of certain barriers in advancing education. The main objective was to discuss the current difficulties that permeate the process of teaching and learning. The research method was qualitative with a theoretical background on readings from writers who discuss this topic as Demo (2004), Trinity (Ed.) (2007) and Libâneo (2007), and also seeking data through questionnaires applications, applied to teachers and school staff. The results indicate that teachers are increasingly looking to improve their formations, to offer a better quality of education.
