This paper proposes an improved fast dynamic system for controlling Matrix Converter (MC) based on modified hysteresis current controller using optimal tuning PI controller. An improved Bacterial Foraging Optimization (BFO) technique is employed for controlling the active and reactive current components of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) to extract the maximum power from the wind. This proposed controller has the ability to supply the grid by both active and reactive power at normal and fault conditions. Dynamic limiter is employed with the proposed improved BFO controller to control the injected reactive power to the grid during Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) at a range limited by MC rated current to improve the system s...
