The Effective Instructor: Revelations of Educators In-Training

This study sought to ascertain students‘ perceptions of the effective instructor. A comprehen-sive questionnaire consisting of 32 descriptors representing a composite from previous research was adopted and given to school administrators enrolled at King Saud University in a school administrative training program for further education. Frequencies and percent were given for each of the 32 descriptors with emphasis placed on the five most and five least important traits. A cross-tabulation was conducted to see if a significant differences occurred in the responses of those who were secondary and elementary principals. Results indicated only minimal difference existed between these two groups and indicate the students in general place great importance upon the personal and temperament traits of the instructor that enable him with knowledge of. subject and use of strategies to make the subject come ‘alive‘ for them
