Chihuahua. Guerra contra el narcotráfico y calentamiento social

Chihuahua: War on Drug Trafficking and Social Warming. The author analyzes the situation of the most violence-affected states in recent years: Chihuahua on its Texan and New Mexico border. First of all, he presents the different manifestations of both, criminal and State violence in Chihuahua from 2007 to 2011: homicides in general, homicides of women, homicides of youngsters, forced disappearances. Then he analyzes the various effects of different forms of violence: human and social costs, economic stagnation, impoverishment… Furthermore, he explores the social roots global crisis induced by the activities of violence: the start-stop-start cycles of organized crime and State violence, maquiladora industry; the destructuration but also by a model of economic of the economy of campesino households. Growth that excludes wide segments Main conclusions are that the state of population, dehumanizes, egoistic of Chihuahua suffers not only a public centered, provoking what the author calls security crisis but a human security “social warming”
