AbstractIntroduction:Skeletal muscle has the ability to continuously adapt to differentstimuli.Objective:To analyze the effects of immobilization and remobilizationon morphology parameters of soleus and tibial anterior of Wistar rats.Methods:Eighteen animals were immobilized for 15 days and divided into three groups ofsix animals each: G1 – only immobilized; G2 – remobilized freely; G3 – remobi-lized in water. The soleus and tibial anterior muscles both rights (immobilized ortreated) and left (control) were collected.Results:Immobilization reduced musclemass, fiber diameter and length of the soleus and muscle mass of tibial anterior.In G2 and G3 was an increase in muscle mass and length of tibial anterior; andan increase in fiber diameter o...
