Mobilità e carriere di immigrati imprenditori

The paper approaches the topic of immigrants’ occupational mobility and careers starting from a survey of 200 Non-EU entrepreneurs in six different Italian local contexts. The analysis of the evolution of entrepreneurial careers allows us to overcome the opposite stereotypes of immigrants being either overmobile (in terms of employment status and job turnover) or undermobile (in terms of social mobility) relative to natives. The survey revealed an articulated framework of promotional experiences, where immigrants careers exhibit common characteristics and trajectories but also significant differences due to both immigrants’ worker profiles and their logics of action and to the structure of opportunities with which they interact in the different local contexts
