The term ‘filtration’ should be understood as the methods (electrical, optical, mechanical, mathematical) to select the necessary information from the general profile of the surface. The impact of interference, especially emanating from the environment is inevitable when recording profiles. Above that, to level completely the device error of the test sample it is necessary to spend a large amount of time.
