The purpose of this article is to present an exploratory approach which took place in an Applied Foreign Languages Department, based on the recently developed CEFR descriptors for cross-linguistic mediation. This approach focuses on the dynamics of the combination of activities and mediation strategies in a specialized language class with activities of specialized translation in order to improve the acquisition of the specialized vocabulary.
