Abstract The United Nations Convention against Corruption was adopted on 9 December 2003, by recognizing coruption as an extraordinary crime. Corruption endangers the stability and security of societies and states,and jeopardizing sustainable development. The UN Convention launched the concept of sustainable development in 1987 through the World Commission on Environment and Development, stating that sustainable development as development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of the future generations to meet their own needs.
