WOMAN AND TRANSLATION: A STUDY ON THE WOMEN ACTION IN LATIN-AMERICA (1900-1950)

In face of the feminist criticism revision towards different acti-vities held by women in the literary world, this paper aims to highlight the women’s action in the translation field. In order to achieve this purpose, we will study the translation practice of literary texts by women, especially during the first half of the XX century in the Latin-American context, as a way to put in evidence her representativity in the intellectual scene at that time. Also, this work will discuss the relationship between gender and translation, an area that has not been explored regarding the studies directed to the production of female authorship
