La Independencia de Brasil en Bahía: dimensiones políticas y conflictos (1821-1823)

The article analyzes the political changes that took place in Bahía during the years 1821-1823, following the province’s adherence to Portuguese constitutionalism. We start with the assumption that the conflicts deriving from this process increased the possibilities of political participation in the province and demanded extensive articulation from the ruling classes to conduct the crisis and configure a new power structure
