This paper approaches regional identity in the Caribbean in heuristic terms that imply the paradigms of movement, mobility, flux and diverse influences that are not limited to frame of fixed parameters. Our rationale consists in going beyond the traditional observation of a sedentary space, in order to better our perception of the connexions that join the different units composing the region, and apprehend the spheres of influence or scales of inclusion that range from micro-local to global. The notions of “movement” and “mouvance” that we suggest conceptualizing here in order to apprehend our object in a dynamic way, even though linked with a transdisciplinary approach, derive their validity from the inscription in the field of Geopolitics
